This module is designed to prepare Perfect World's nominated students for the Game development aspects of Abertay's residential Master in Professional Practice in Games Development (MProf).
This module will introduce students to the types of learning, concept development, innovation and industrially focused research that form a major element of the later MProf, while greatly improving their technical and contextual English language, awareness and comprehension of the subject area.
By the end of this module the student should be able to:
1. Demostrate a critical understanding of the key practices and roles within games development, informed by developments at the forefront of professional practice.
2. Plan and execute investigations, projects and processes employing a range of specialised skills and processes appropriate to their discipline.
3. Critically review, consolidate and extend knowledge, skills practices and thinking with the discipline of professional games development.

Credit Value – The total value of SCQF credits for the module. 20 credits are the equivalent of 10 ECTS credits. A full-time student should normally register for 60 SCQF credits per semester.
