This module comprises micro and macroeconomic theory.
The aim of this module is to provide students with an understanding of the theoretical models that underpin current economic practice.
By the end of this module the student should be able to:
1. Understand basic micro and macroeconomic models.
2. Apply economic models to 'real world' problems and situations.

This lecture-based module is supported by tutorials. Students will be engaged in enquiry-based work for at least 55% of their contact time, and that enquiry process will drive their independent access to more than half of the material with which they work .

Credit Value – The total value of SCQF credits for the module. 20 credits are the equivalent of 10 ECTS credits. A full-time student should normally register for 60 SCQF credits per semester.
