Through a series of presentations and seminars provided by academics and external industrial speakers, students will be supported in their development of an original and creative line of research within Video Game development practice.
The aim of this Module is to develop the student’s abilities to plan their professional development, to incorporate innovation in their professional practice and to be effective in the presentation of their professional abilities. The focus is on Student led research, presentations and seminars.
By the end of this module the student should be able to:
1. Generate, defend and refine a Personal Development Plan.
2. Formulate and appraise a personal portfolio of work.
3. Interpret and critique material presented by professional practitioners.
4. Appraise areas other than their primary professional discipline.
5. Propose and develop an innovative topic.
1 Professional Development:
Personal Development Plan, consolidation and critique of material, personal portfolio.
Propose, develop and present an innovative topic, methodology or technique.
Organise and present at a professional level.
Statement on Teaching, Learning and Assessment
Students will be required to propose an 'innovation' topic, which they will investigate and deliver. The intention is that this work will develop their ability to critically analyse and evaluate such a topic, as well as their ability to evaluate opportunities for development and experimentation within their chosen field of practice.

Credit Value – The total value of SCQF credits for the module. 20 credits are the equivalent of 10 ECTS credits. A full-time student should normally register for 60 SCQF credits per semester.
